The intuitive operating concept means that welders can get to work straight away – no prior knowledge of the device is required and they’re great for a less experienced user. All of the essential welding parameters can be viewed and adjusted on the front panel. The only parameters that have to be selected before welding begins are the metal being welded – steel, stainless, aluminium etc, gas, wire diameter and material thickness.
The ease of use is also evident in the hot start function when igniting the arc, as in order to make the electrode easier to ignite, the current is increased for a split-second during ignition on the power source.
If a short circuit occurs (electrode sticking during electrode welding), the welding process is immediately switched off, which prevents electrode burn-out and/or serious weld seam faults.
The TransSteel 2200 brings together MMA, MIG/MAG and TIG in a single device whilst ensuring there’s no compromise between the individual welding processes. The machinery has been designed to rapidly switch between the processes, for ease of use and to ensure there’s no downtime as a result, and the process switchover couldn’t be easier thanks to an additional gas solenoid valve on the rear.
Whilst the TransSteel 2200 is the most powerful machine in its class, this powerhouse only weighs 15kg meaning it’s one of the most portable devices on the market. Additional features such as the carry handle and carrying strap and the skid runners on the sides ensure that it can easily be transported and is therefore suitable for a variety of environments from workshops to construction sites to assembly work.
