Fronius synergic pulse programs: plug and play

Close-up of the Fronius Fortis 270 display showing the main welding parameters

A pulse waveform has a lot of variables: peak current, background current, pulse time, frequency, voltage and wire speed, all of which have to suit the wire, gas and thickness. Setting all of that by hand would be a full-time job. Synergic programs do it for you.

What “synergic” means

A synergic machine links all of those settings to one main control. You tell it the wire material, diameter and shielding gas, then set a single value such as wire speed, current or material thickness. The machine adjusts everything else to match, using a characteristic (a stored program) developed and tested by Fronius welding engineers.

Why it matters

  • Plug and play: pick the program and start welding, with no lengthy trial-and-error on scrap.
  • Consistent quality: every welder on the shop floor starts from the same optimised settings.
  • Quicker training: newer welders get to good welds sooner.
  • Fine-tuning when you want it: arc length and arc dynamic corrections let experienced welders adjust the feel without losing the synergic link.

On the Fronius Fortis

The Fronius Fortis range has up to 240 optimised characteristics, developed for steel construction and covering steel, stainless steel, aluminium, metal-cored and flux-cored wires from 0.8 to 1.6 mm. A welding parameter wizard recommends the right settings for the next job, and the display shows every important setting on the first menu level, in over 30 languages.

  • Standard package: welds all common materials across the whole power range.
  • Pulse package: the pulsed arc for low spatter on thin to thick sheet.
  • Pulse/Standard: both, at a set price.
  • Extras such as SynchroPulse for aluminium, stitch welding for less distortion, and Pulse/Standard Mix for faster vertical-up seams. Packages and options can be added later.

Ready-to-weld pulse packages include the Fortis 270 C Pulse, Fortis 320 C Pulse and Fortis 400 Compact Pulse. See the whole range, prices and answers to common questions on our Fronius Fortis page.
