Genkins petrol generators now available from Weldsafe

Genkins GK-7000iSE 6 kW Petrol Inverter Generator 115V/230V

When there’s no mains supply on site, a reliable generator is what keeps the job moving. The full Genkins range of petrol generators is now available to order from Weldsafe, from a 2 kW open-frame unit for lights and hand tools up to an 8 kW electric-start machine for bigger site loads. All six run on modern Stage V petrol engines and give you a choice of 230V, or 115V and 230V, output.

Open frame or inverter: which type do you need?

The Genkins range is split into two types, and the right one depends on what you’re powering and where.

  • Open-frame generators with AVR (GK-2500N2, GK-7000 and GK-10000E) are the workhorses. They’re simple, tough and give the most power for your money. Automatic voltage regulation (AVR) keeps the output steady as the load changes, and all three have both 115V and 230V sockets, so they’ll run 110V site tools as well as 230V kit.
  • Inverter generators (GK-3500iSE, GK-4500iSE Pro and GK-7000iSE) are enclosed, quieter and produce a very clean, stable supply, which is what you want for electronics and inverter-based equipment. They throttle the engine to match the load, so they use less fuel at part load, and all three have electric start, wheels and a pull-along handle.

Which model suits which job?

Lights, chargers and hand tools: GK-2500N2

The GK-2500N2 is the entry point to the range. With 2 kW rated output, 115V and 230V sockets and a 15 litre tank that runs for up to 15 hours at half load, it’s a dependable all-day supply for site lighting, battery chargers, grinders and drills. At 36.5 kg it’s easy to move around the yard or into a van.

Quiet, clean power: GK-3500iSE and GK-4500iSE Pro

The GK-3500iSE (3.2 kW) is the quietest in the range at 60 dB at 7 m, and at 30.5 kg it’s the lightest of the inverters. The GK-4500iSE Pro steps up to 3.8 kW with a 10 litre tank. Both have electric start and a clean 230V supply that’s safe for laptops, control equipment and inverter tools, making them a good fit for mobile workshops, events and anywhere noise matters.

Bigger site loads: GK-7000 and GK-7000iSE

Both 7000 models give 6 kW rated and 6.5 kW maximum output, with 115V and 230V sockets. The open-frame GK-7000 is the value choice, with a 419cc engine and a big 25 litre tank that runs for up to 10 hours at half load. The GK-7000iSE gives you the same power as an inverter, so it’s quieter (63 dB at 7 m against 76 dB), has electric start and wheels, and its clean output suits sensitive equipment.

Maximum output: GK-10000E

The GK-10000E is the most powerful in the range: 8 kW rated and 8.5 kW maximum from a 456cc engine, with electric start, AVR and a 25 litre tank for up to 8.5 hours at half load. It’s the one to choose when you need to run several tools at once or a heavier single load.

Running a welder from a generator

We’re often asked whether a generator will run a welding machine. Modern inverter welders need a stable supply, so choose an inverter generator or an AVR model, and size it with plenty of headroom: a welder’s peak input power at full output is usually much higher than its average. Check the input power (kVA) on your welder’s rating plate or manual and allow a good margin above it. If you’re not sure, give us a call with your machine’s model and we’ll help you match the right generator.

Delivery

Genkins generators are sent direct from the manufacturer by pallet, at a flat £40 ex VAT per order, with the delivery date confirmed when you order. Northern Ireland is not covered.
